Efficiency, Control and Innovation

Quality Management System

The quality management system at NUOVA STA Srl focuses on defect prevention and places particular emphasis on the product development and industrialization stages.

The dedicated quality team works closely with the technical department throughout the entire APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process, ensuring proper approval of the product and manufacturing process in compliance with customer requirements. The process also includes PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities for managing initial product samples and validating production supplies.

Process control is designed to prevent defects and non-conformities through:

The development of self-inspection practices through continuous staff training in on-machine quality checks.

Dimensional and performance testing carried out by the in-house laboratory.

Continuous monitoring of process data.

Quality and Control

Laboratory Testing and Technical Inspections

The laboratory tests that NUOVA STA Srl can provide during the PPAP (initial product sampling), product qualification or production stages, according to predefined inspection frequencies, may include:

  • Dimensional Testing: verification of product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Mechanical Testing: tensile strength, hardness, compressive strength and flexural strength testing.
  • Chemical Testing: analysis of the chemical composition of materials.
  • Metallographic Testing: analysis of microstructure, heat treatments and any inclusions.
  • Strength and Durability Testing: fatigue, wear, vibration and lifecycle testing.
  • Corrosion Testing: evaluation of corrosion resistance through salt spray testing.
  • Coating Testing: inspection of coating thickness, adhesion and the quality of surface treatments.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing or radiographic testing, where applicable.
  • Millipore Cleanliness Testing: evaluation of the product’s contamination level.
  • Weld Penetration Testing: macroscopic examination of the welded joint’s cross-section to verify penetration depth, material fusion and the possible presence of defects; microscopic examination to assess the microstructure of the weld metal, heat-affected zone and base material.
